Independence is a fundamental part of dignity and quality of life. At Kingston, we believe that no individual should lose their independence due to simple daily challenges. Kingston was created to design practical, affordable assistive technology that supports elderly and differently abled individuals in completing everyday tasks independently. Our product, the EZ-Button & Zip Assist, addresses a common yet often overlooked problem: difficulty fastening clothing due to reduced hand strength or dexterity. By providing a simple, effective solution, Kingston aims to improve confidence, comfort, and independence for users. 

Business performance: 

The initial focus of Kingston was to identify a genuine need within the community through market research. This research highlighted a strong demand for affordable and easy-to-use assistive tools that support independence in everyday dressing tasks.

Following this, the company evaluated existing assistive products and selected the EZ-Button & Zip Assist as the solution best suited to our target market and business objectives. Start-up capital was raised through the sale of shares to family supporters, enabling the company to prepare for sales and distribution.

Kingston is now progressing towards selling the product through school events, online platforms, and partnerships with care facilities.
